The Challenge

BBVA Compass launched their U.S. version of the BBVA Wallet mobile application.

This application aimed to provide their BBVA Compass cardholders a central location to view, manage, and enjoy new functionality specific to their BBVA Compass Credit and Debit cards. As a global application it embraced a common name, design, and also provides common features. However, the U.S. version will contain new features based on the needs of the local market.

Features of the BBVA Wallet include the convenience of viewing card-specific activity, providing credit card management capabilities, and the development of new functionality that will add value to cardholders.

BBVA needed to communicate this app to its target market through marketing efforts.

  • Generate excitement for the product as it’s the first product of its kind that will make people lives easier, safer and more convenient.

How we delivered an animation video to educate the audience on an exciting new product

Script & Voiceover

We began the process by producing a script which informed the length of the video, and creative requirements.

We then went through a process of selecting a voiceover artist who resonated with the target demographic, and produced a narrative soundtrack to the video.

Storyboards

Following a lean-agile approach, we created a storyboard with sketches on the one side and narration on the other, so that a complete picture for the animation could be formed in the mind of our client at BBVA prior to investing too much time in production.

We then reviewed the storyboard with them, made tweaks to graphic concepts and copy prior to finalising and sign off before moving into production of the animation.

Design Frames

Before we started, we planned the animation from end-to-end, iterated, approved and then moved onto production. This process saved us time during the animation production phase.

Animation

Our team generated a 3D model of a phone & wallet to manipulate in a 3D space, according to the design frames.

05.

Outcome

The educational video was used with success to showcase the new app.
